为什么用although,不用even when?

并且thus adv.用来修饰remain也没错呀?

我认为原文有remaining this way，故D比E好。

thus = in this manner, so thus is same as in this way, which feel like wordy and unformal. So E is better?

although 仅表转折，这里逻辑意思上有进一步的意思，所以even is better than although.
