我一直晕时态。请大家帮助。

T16， Soaring television costs accounted for more than half the spending in the presidential campaign of 1982, a greater proportion than it was in any previous election.
B. a greater proportion than
C.a greater proportion than they have been
d. which is greater than was so
e. which is greater than it has been

Ans:C
我选了B，我想如果要补全的话，应该用a greater proportion than they had been，因为前面有个过去的时间。为何不对呢？

T32, To develop more accurate population forecasts , demographers have to know a great deal more than now about the social and economic determinants of fertility.
B.have to know a great deal more than they do now about the social and economical
c. would have to know a great deal more than they do now about the social and economical

我在A、D之间选择，不知如何判断时态？我想干脆省略了，是不是就没有这个问题了？

T32,我想是不是有虚拟的意思在呢?所以用would have ,我发现从句意来理解,比起从语法上讲,往往更能做对题.

T16,请大家帮助.

T32 这里通过区分economical和economic就可以排除三个选项，more than now又排除一个，都可以不用时态. 当然用would的虚拟语气好些。
T16题，比较的是costs, 只有一个选项有they，其它的不明确或it不对，对于have been可以理解为到现在为止。

mm, B is wrong because of " it" . costs is plural.

那不是感觉C的时态有错嘛.应该用过去完成时才对(我实在是晕时态)

所以我想省略不就没事了????

首先, 作者所处的时间可以是现在,也可以是过去,总之,用完成时,
如果作者所在的时间是现在,用现在完成时强调到现在为止, 选C 是对的,

T16, 逗号后面的是同位语从句, 说话者所处的时间是现在,用HAVE BEEN 强调到现在为止, C 对; 如果用HAD BEEN, 则强调到过去某一时间,但文中没有明确给出,
从句字的意思和逻辑理解,就可以很容易得出C的

ECONOMICAL ADJ. 表示经济,省钱
2. 由NOW 可知,A 中现在...比...现在, 不合理,
而D 中,过去和现在比较, 好
3. A 中,THAN 前后不对等
