答案A。问题有2： 1，the processes 前面应该是省略了一个that 吧(我现在对ETS省略考点过敏)； 2，答案里的it 在我看来有指代不清的嫌疑呀。

从句中的they 应该优先指代主句主语，所以travelers 打头的都不对。
所以不存在“指代歧义的可能性就更大”的说法。

是的，the processes 前面应该是省略了一个that。
省略的原因我认为是predicted前面就是that，再来一个似乎读起来累赘。
关于IT的指代，同意mjiehu。
指代不清的嫌疑是有的，但因为是指代主句的主语，所以降至了最低。
