42. The current administration, being worried over some foreign trade barriers being
removed and our exports failing to increase as a result of deep cuts in the value
of the dollar, has formed a group to study ways to sharpen our competitiveness.

OG中对worry about/over的区别解释了一句话，worried about is preferable when
describing a condition rather than an action。
我试图想找出ets解释的例句，所以上午在图书馆翻了n本字典，其中有两本给出的解释是
over表示更大程度的worry.给出例句 worry over the least thing。同og上的好象不同，
请教大家about /over 的区别和例句。

worry about

He worries about the slightest thing.

worry over
Don't worry over me, Lester. I'm all right; I'll get along.

最后一个worry over的例句我在那两本字典上也看到了：）这个也是我唯一查到的例句了。不过到底有什么区别呢？

hoho,看了楼上的例子，俺真的比较不出哪是action哪是condition。consequently,can we refer to the 公理 that the being choices shall be rejected

我感觉worry over sth. 强调sth.

1. Don't worry over me, Lester. I'm all right; I'll get along. 强调me, 言下之意你应该worry 其他事/人.
2.Oh, how like a woman to worry over a side-issue!强调: side-issue
3. She's always worrying over little things that don't really matter.强调: little things, 言下之意应该worry big things
4.He worries over the least thing that goes wrong. 强调 least thing.

这种理解对吗?

我觉得有个帖子里说worried about中的worried是形容词，来解释这个答案更为妥帖些。

从字典上的解释来看worried over与worried about区别好象没有ETS说的那么大啊？

ETS的解释: about+condition, over+action

They didn't have to worry about money.
What we are worrying about is just her innocence.

She's always worrying over little things that don't really matter.
He worries over the least thing that goes wrong.

难道前面的money, innocence是condition，后面的me，a side issue， little thing，还有the least thing都是action？！

ETS的意思是worried about表示了一种状态，而不是about后面要连接状态。

我的理解是，这里worried是一个形容词短语，是一种状态用来描述administration，worried about更适合表达一种状态。见Longman的解释:

worried: adjective
unhappy because you keep thinking about a problem, or about something bad that might happen
worried about
I'm really worried about my brother.

They didn't have to worry about money. 这里的worry about是指人担心没钱的一种情况，状态。

这里的worry是动词，worry about仍然表示动作。

现在的管理机构因为worried about这种状态导致其组织一个队伍去研究加强其竞争力的方法。

应该没有因果关系。这里只是一个形容词短语作插入语表示状态。

关于 42,

到底increase的主语是failure还是export?

可以说failure increase ,,,,,吗？

但是和前面removal 并列的一定是failure, 对吧？

请高手指教

个人感觉很多问题不应该绝对化讨论，毕竟在特定的语言环境下求一个合适的答案。

这题重点不在worry about/ over 的区别上

worried作形容词可以用 worried about,表示一种担忧的状况

作动词可以用worry about/over，表示担忧的动作，action

说说我的想法

worry over是在某件事情或某个人上担心，担心的并不是这件事或这个人，而是这件事和这个人相关的其他　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　东西

worry about后接直接担心的东西

比如　over　请不要在这件小事上担心，言外之意，请不要在这件小事上担心我的能力或这件小事的后果

　　　about　请不要担心这事　　言外之意　不用担心这事必成功

OG11中说不支持 worry over 的用法 the correct idiom is worried about rather than worried over
