偶觉得选C 应该是provide sth to detemine 把开始也在C和E中犹豫觉得E的how and when mammals colonized the islands of the West Indies 比较简洁但是C的从句的并列也没错啊. 请NN指教

从整个句子来看mammal bones提供了线索，后面应该是mammals（如何和何时）统治....

所以选择E.

C中to应该接sth.

例：give a clue to sth. or provide a clue to sth.

偶明白了 C有个重要错误就是后面那个THEY 指代不清楚可能指前面的scientise.产生歧义

可是E中的provide sth for 对吗?

C的一个明显错误是 when they did后面少一个“SO”
