标题: 动名词做主语咯！
根据OG2018 726. Making things even more difficult has been general market inactivity lately, if not paralysis, which has provided little in the way of pricing guidance.
A. has been general market inactivity lately, if not paralysis, which has provided
B. there is general market inactivity, if not paralysis, lately it has provided
C. general market inactivity, if not paralysis, has lately provided
D. lately, general market inactivity, if not paralysis, has provided
E. is that lately general market inactivity, , if not paralysis,which provides
选D没问题
问题1：但是我不知道解析上说“if not paralysis和general market inactivity”中间不能有任何东西是为什么？
问题2：OG的解释说这是倒装结构，就是说Making things不是主语，而general market inactivity是主语。
但是According to a recent poll, owning and living in a freestanding house on its own land is still a goal of a majority of young adults, like that of earlier generations.(A) like that of earlier generations
(B) as that for earlier generations
(C) just as earlier generations did
(D) as have earlier generations
(E) as it was of earlier generation
这个题，同理，我认为主语可以是a goal of a majority of young adults，这样的话like是主语之间的比较，直接用like that of earlier generations有什么问题吗？
问题3：动名词在句首什么情况下是倒装呀？

According to recent poll那题你应该是理解错了，因为那题的意思是年轻人的梦想是可以有一个freestanding house xxx，和之前的generation 有一个freestanding house一样。。所以应该是as earlier generation owned and lived in a freestanding。。。
that of 的话变成是比较这一辈的goal和上一辈的goal，上一辈的goal到现在也完成了吧。。。而且如果是earlier generations做主语的话应该是要用those of

如果是that of earlier generation，就成了以前的几代现在的goal现在还是owing and living...，是这个意思吧。
那如果是owing a house is a goal of A, like that of B.可以吗？？
