Contrary to earlier conjectures,it may be that increased atmospheric carbon dioxide as a reasult of burning fossil fuels would cool the globe by reducing the amount of solar enery absorbed by snow.

(A) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide as a reasult of burning

(B) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide resulting from the combustion of (B)

请问A错在哪里了

1, 如刘振民如提：the combustion 强调‘燃烧的结果’；burning 强调‘燃烧的过程’。原文中当然是燃烧的结果造成CO2的增加。

2.通常as a result of sth.，这里sth.是否可以用动名词代替，我不敢妄言绝对不行，但这里能用名词的形式当然更好。

3.as a result of 是介词短语，这里用来修饰名词，不如用resulting from(相当于形容词短语）修饰来的好。前者通常作状语修饰谓语动词。

2.3是我的推测，供参考。

Acoording to Merriam-Webster's,

the intepretion of combustion as follow:

1 : an act or instance of burning
2 : a usually rapid chemical process (as oxidation) that produces heat and usually light; also : a slower oxidation (as in the body)
3 : violent agitation :
