Uconn Finance interview

Just called the Ph.D. coordinator.  He said I am the top
candidates and get a interview on March 9.  However, I have three
classes tomorrow.  Then I postpone the visit on next Thursday, Mar
17.  Anyone who applied Uconn Finance can contact the coordinator
for application result.  Good luck.



In addition, one of the best professors in Real Estate Dept at
UW-Madison said he will follow-up my application.  That is a good
news.  The program director did not want to review my application
before because he does not want to review the application of a Ph.D. or
a Ph.D. student.

Basically I think the visit is only a process since I met the dept headlast December and I contacted one professor.  He is reallyinterested on me.  And the visit is not very formal, comparing myLP's experience last year.

My research interest is real estate.  In this field, Uconn is top5.  Most importantly, my LP is there.  So I think I willchoose Uconn finally even still waiting for responses from UT-Austin,UW-Madison, and U of Georigia.

I think real estate is a kind of unfamiliar field for Chinesestudents.  It is a branch under Finance.  Given more studentsentering Finance program and competing limited job opportunities, Ithink it is a good alternative.  The schools I chose all rank intop 10 in US.  UPenn is No. 1 in such a field.  However, Iwas rejected in late Feb.

In addition, UT-Austin has sent the first turn offers.  Due to thepostpone of Graduate school, my application did not catch up the firstreview.  Now probably on the waiting list.
