很不好意思,狗主记忆力真的不是很好,虽然考试结果不理想,还是希望能尽绵薄之力为大家提供竟可能多的信息。我想起什么会随时补充。

我真心觉得GMAC懒到都不想出新作文题目了,我被考中的题是这个,没错,exactly这题:
The following appeared in an editorial from a newspaper serving the town of Saluda:
"The Saluda Consolidated High School offers more than 200 different courses from which its students can choose. A much smaller private school down the street offers a basic curriculum of only 80 different courses, but it consistently sends a higher proportion of its graduating seniors on to college than Consolidated does. By eliminating at least half of the courses offered there and focusing on a basic curriculum, we could improve student performance at Consolidated and also save many tax dollars."

1, 有一题IR题是先给出了有A B C D E几个数(具体我不记得了),然后告诉你 他们之间的关系是A<=B, B<=C, C<= D, D <= E,之类的(真题不是这个A<=B<=C<=D<=E的大小顺序的,不过还是可以通过已知关系得出一个5个数的排序), 然后问你如何完成下列不等式能够most strengthen这个 statement: A=B=C=D=E
Left <= Right
然后在有A到E的table中让你选Left和Right分别是什么。这题如果是我举例的那个逻辑关系的话,我会选 A>=E 来完成这个不等式关系。Viewers' discretion is advised。
2,我印象最深的是有一题左边给出题目信息的屏幕给出了三个tab的info,第一个tab交待了一些背景,好像是说有公司采集了某大学从200x-200x年的undergraduate,Phd和Faculty Member的人数等统计数据。嗯,具体内容等我缓过神来再update。
输血:
1. 有一题求面积的,那个图形是底下一个长方形,上面顶着一个半圆,半圆是与长方形的两条边相切的(i.e. 2πr=长方形的宽),已知条件是圆的直径(也就是长方形的宽)是4,整个图形的高(包括了长方形的长和半圆的半径的高度)是20。总面积就是π*2^2+(20-2)*4=4π+72
2. Toss两个骰子,求其中任意一个筛子得出的结果刚好比另一个大2的概率是多少?应该是2/9
3. 要从{1,2,3,4,5}generate一个五位数的security code之类的,每个数就只能出现一次,even number还不能挨在一起,问有多少个code可以被generate出来。这题我回忆可能不准。Viewers’ discretion is advised。
4. Piggy bank里面有5 cent, 10cents和25cent共29枚硬币,共$3.2, 其中10cents的是25cent的三倍,问5cent的硬币的数量。我走了条捷径:设5,10,25三中硬币分别有x,y,z个,那么x+y+z=29,(y=3z)=> x+4z=29,然后选项中好像只有9是能使z有整数结果的,所以就选了9. (我没有老老实实的为三个未知数列出三个方程来解,不过可能大家的解题思路都是类似的吧)
月读:
1. 有一篇文章说的是研究各部落印第安人的语言进化及与周边环境关系的。
2. 有一篇文章说的是人类如果要去火星要考虑几个因素的,例如航天器燃料,速度(到达火星所需时间)以及飞行环境对宇航员的身体的影响。第一段貌似一直在说这些因素之间的影响,第二段就说有个人好像祖籍是Costa Rica,他研究出了一种engine能够提高飞行效率之类的。第三段好像是说了一个具体的技术环节遇到的困难,好像是技术中要利用氢来产生plasma,然后如何做高温隔热处理之类的问题,最后要通过电磁原理来解决(我记得以前咱中国的人造小太阳也是用magnetic的方式来处理隔热问题,抱歉,扯远了)。抱歉,先回忆那么多,这题我记得几个问都真心简单。
补充:我想起来了一些与第二篇阅读的第三段相关的信息,是从wiki上摘抄下来的。那篇阅读有一题好像问了第二段主要讨论了什么,还有一题是问了在全文中考率了很多研发的因素,EXCEPT哪一个?我记得我选的是cost。Viewers’ discretion is advised。
VASIMR, or Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket, works by using radio waves to ionize a propellant into a plasma and then a magnetic field to accelerate the plasma out of the back of the rocket engine to generate thrust. The VASIMR is currently being developed by the private company Ad Astra Rocket Company, headquartered in Houston, TX with of help from a NS Canada based company Nautel, producing the 200 kW RF generators for ionizing propellant. Some of the components and "Plasma Shoots" experiments are tested in a laboratory settled in Liberia, Costa Rica. This project is led by former NASA astronaut Dr. Franklin Chang-Díaz (CRC-USA). Recently the Costa Rican Aerospace Alliance announced the cooperation to this project by developing an exterior support device for the VASIMR to be fitted in the exterior of the International Space Station, as part of the plan to test the VASIMR in space, this test phase is now expected to be conducted in 2016. The VF-200 engine could reduce the duration of flight from Earth to Jupiter or Saturn from six years to fourteen months, and Mars from 4 months to 39 days.

就是,说大型超市在category的提供上不如小型超市,一种类型很多品牌并不是顾客挑选产品时候最有吸引力的....,但是在成本的控制上,大型商超比小型连锁超市显示出优势...)

第一段:说large retail store怎么洋,但small store往往有地域上的优势(可以在居民区),其次large store停车很费时间的,而small store就不会,而且商品进店看一目了然,不像large store里面那么多种类。有人说large store商品种类的繁多是优点,但作者出来批判了,说不对,事实上人们对产品种类多的要求是对产品catelogue丰富的要求,而catelogue下不同子产品的数量多少要求就不高了。(虽然large retailer的产品多,但是customer只看大的产品目录,而不看大目录下面的catalog。)而large store一半以上的产品补充都是属于catelogue下的子产品,又不讨好顾客又增加warehouse的成本。
第二段说继续说 small store成本之类的优点,management啊,parking place,warehouse方面,其实是可以多家店net-working共享,顾客其实就只买那几个牌子,建立small stores的net有利与筛选品牌什么的
第三段还是说优点,提到了人员方面,说同样的产品large store要30个人管理(涉及到仓储管理人员等),而small store只要两个人,(但是比如说因为large retailer集中管理,所以价格便宜,并且员工数量也会比较少。一个large retailer只需要30个employees,而30家small retailer每个需要2个employee),但作者提出可以 a network of small retailers 可以雇佣用一批人(the same personnel pool)去管理warehouse,所以small retailer的费用是可以降低的。
