Since the past four years, we can see that wharton has received fewer applicants than it did before. People usually said, "Wharton, Standford and Harvard", but now we only hear, "Standford and Harvard". Even though Wharton says it picks up better applicants, we still doubt whether the status of the famous business school is decreasing. The main reason is the financial crisis. As we know, after the horrible finanical cirisis in 2008, many finanical companies lost their business, thus making it harder for graduates to find suitable work.

From the statistics of applicants to different schools, we can see that many top business schools get increased number of applicants, but Wharton isn't among them. However, Wharton says that the quality of applicants is much important than the quantity, considering that its applicants' GMAT score is 725 out of 800. Now people are focusing on the global network of schools. On the other hand, business schools also want applicants who have experience in diversified fields.

In order to improve its students' leadership and teamwork abilities, Wharton introduce a group class into its schedule, even though the strategy may depress some applicants. One disadvantage of Wharton is that its graduates focus on financial industry. Some students think business school is not just financial school.
