同位语修饰问题 OG13 19题和47题

疑问：

19 题The exploits of Nellie Bly, a pioneerjournalist 此处中 a pioneer journalist 修饰的是 nellie bly   OG 解释

47题 his translation of the Iliad, a work that took him....此处中 a work 指代 translation of the LLiad.  OG解释

请教语法达人，为什么同样都是同位语修饰， 19题中，修饰的后面的 Nelllie bly, 而 47题中，a work修饰的是整个前面名词。　如果我认为a work修饰的也是后面的 lliad部分，岂不是正确答案也错了。 求达人解救~~~~~

好像刚有人问过同样的问题，但只是同谓语的判断要凭逻辑不能单纯靠结构。当然如果非要从语法的角度解释这里work不算同位语。你可以查一下在语法中有一种free modifier叫做summtive
modifier。（同位语也是free modifier的一种）
其实这种区分确实没有多大必要，它可以这样用。如此而已

我认为在这里应区分19题中的of结构和47题中的of结构实际上是不同的结构。

Manhattan中在 PRONOUNS & MODIFIERS: ADVANCED STRATEGY 章节中讲到修饰语不服从Touch Rule的几种情况，其中第一种就是“of 修饰短语”，指出of短语后的修饰语应修饰整个of介词短语的内容而非其中某个单词。LZ所说的47题中his translation of the Iliad即为这种情况。

但应注意的是，在此提到的“of修饰短语” 似乎不包括表所有关系的of短语，即由A's B转化来的 B of A，而19题中The exploits of Nellie Bly恰是所有关系的体现，故不适用于以上规则。关于所有关系后的修饰语情况，还等高手来详细解答

P.S. 在解释47题时，也可参看PREP08 语法笔记中191题后关于同位语的说明：同位语“解释的是整个名词，而不是名词短语中某个词”，同位语不是核心修饰词。

文章中提到 'his translation'和後面那個'took him' 我覺得是呼應的,雖然我 也不知道Iliad是什麽.
