Life today is easier and more comfortable than it was when your grandparents were children.
Young people who were born in the 1990s in China are often imposed the title of the sweetest generation by the older people, while they themselves do not realize that sweetness deeply, so, does the young people today actually lead a cozier and easier life than that lived by the former generation? Generally speaking, I tend to hold a view that life today is much comfortable and easier than it was when our older generation were young.
First, people in the past, especially those people who spent their childhood in the 1960s and 1970s, lead a life under enormous() pressure, we can now even deem people who went through that horrible times successfully are endowed with corresponding tenacity by god, for that China at that time was suffering from some severe disasters, Chinese basic main food:rice and wheat, the demand of them are well beyond the supply, consequently, ordinary people were nearly starving to death, not to mention the coziness and peace of life. On the contrary, Chinese people are no longer short of food supply, and young people pay more attention to the a balanced nutrition of food, in this way, undoubtedly life in contemporary times is much more easier and happier.
Actually, there are some reasons leading to the scacity of material supply behind the terrible disaster in China at that time, people familiar with contempory Chinese history would definitely know that 1960s and 1970s is a period right before the critical development point of China: an era of reforming and opening up conducted by President Deng. Prior to China's reforming and opening up, employment rate and Chinese factory's output is relatively low due to a lack of modern technology and management, thus, adults at that time stand idle and have little things of significance to attend, let alone further spiritual pursuit, meanwhile, little kids did not have access to proper education. I still can recall some sighs of older people because of not having the oppurtunity of going to school just like we do every day.
In addition, children in the past seldom taste the flavor of pocket money, let alone such delicous extra snacks and delightful toys and dolls that boys and girls usually own, the memory of one's chilhood is best cherished in one's life time, while kids in the old days could not savor the happiness of childhood, worse still, they were even harness as additional labor force to help support the whole family.
All in all, young people today have gained so broad an advantage over the older generation and they should learn to be grateful and take chance to contribute to our society.
