这答案是D,我看到because of 后面是Ving就排除了，虽然知道law后面用Ving形式，但是我记得prep里这样写道：

on account of, because of, despite (in despite of), as a result of, due to之后只跟简单的名词短语。若其后面跟的是动名词或名词所有格+动名词短语(sb’s doing),或名词短语之后用一复杂的现在分词来修饰时或后面跟动词的抽象名词形式,应改为与其相同意义的连词because, although等引导的从句形式。 所以这题是不是改为because好点呢

哦，刚才看了下老帖子，说因为law是名词，所以of 后面不是Ving形式，但是名词短语后用复杂的现在分词来修饰也应该用because吗

making跟because of是没有关系的。。。跟law有关系。。。passed in 1933是个障眼法的东西，去掉它你就可以得到，，a law making it a crime 等同于 a law which makes it a crime 这样你就清楚了

对，我现在清楚了，但后面这么复杂还是应该用because吧？？because of 后面不能跟复杂的结构吧

because of 后面跟名词或Ving没错，，而这里的law就是后面跟的一个名词，，，后面的passed ，making都是修饰law的句子，不用管它

不要以为后面只要是句子都跟because 有关系

好的，懂了。另外请教prep里because of 后面不能跟复杂结构，那何为复杂结构呢

我只知道because of 后面不能跟 句子，，有主谓宾的句子。。。像because i like it 这个就不能加of。。。有点像动词think of 和think后面跟的不同
