其实fit这个东西有时候挺扯的
又不是招faculty

了解
再问问lz对fit的看法吧，我发现b-school很强调这个（和同类econ相比）。那么这个fit如何定义呢？是背景中的course work、research experience、paper之类的符合对应的系的长处吗（譬如做Internet Marketing之于CMU之类）？或者只要能fit到一两位能advise的教授就可以了？
如果不仅仅是背景，那是否也包括research interest的呢？interest完全可以是cheap talk，又如何能够体现呢？
fit是更强调field（pricing、branding等区分）还是methodology（empirical、theoretical、experimetal）呢？

北大和清华经管系的顶尖本科生是前10名校争相录取的宠儿.
这两个系GPA>3.7, +一点点研究经历, 拿面试一般都问题不大. 所以...对应美国10-20名左右的本科差不多吧.

弱问对本科控的，pku和thu能大致对应米国啥样子的本科？

是的，学校其实还是主要看你的background够不够solid，人聪明不聪明，兴趣都是可以后天培养的吗，marketing里面那么多三哥绝大多数已开始还是学engineering的呢。

Totally agree.

你说的没错. 竞争难度4.5 和5 相差很大. 后者并不是前者的90%: 很多背景几乎"完美"的人可以轻易被NYU等名校录取, 但十有八九会被MIT, Chicago和GSB没有理由(除了竞争)的据掉.  不过我没有充分的数据, 所以只能靠感觉为初入者排个序. 如果100名后的学校可以给个2.0的话, Berkeley 给个4.5还是比较公平的吧.

A very good post

berkeley is not as good as it was 10 year ago, both Russ and Tulin moved to nyu. Although the chinese students there had very good placements, I would think it is because of the students' solid background before they went to berkeley. Moreover, I do not think berkeley has preference for its under since their under are way weaker than those of ivy.

BTW, your 0.5 looks very small, but it is actually huge.

Best school is not always the best choice for you. Most chinese students in chicago went to so so school finally.
