3.(223)Bo Jackson, who is widely believed to be both one of the greatest athletes of all time and the first player to make an all-star team in baseball and football, leaves a legacy that will likely live on for generations to come.

d. Widely believed to be one of the greatest athletes of all time, Bo Jackson, who was the first player to make an all-star team in baseball and football, and leaves a legacy that 会导致没有完整的句子
e. Since he is the first player to make an all-star team in both baseball and football and is widely believed to be one of the greatest athletes of all time, Bo Jackson’s legacy
D  A的错误再无both and用错了位置,导致了句意不对 B是后半句,C的语序不如D好
C
4.(224)At last month's meeting Mr. Iqbal, the chair of a business association for immigrants, described the most significant problems he had experienced in adapting to his new country's business regulations and outlined several actions that he had taken to deal with those problems.
A - had experienced in adapting to his new country's business regulations and outlined several actions that he had taken to deal
B - experienced, adapted to the business regulations of his new country, and outlined several actions that had been taken in his dealing
C - had experienced in adapting to the business regulations of his new country and in outlining several actions that he had taken in dealing
D - experienced while adapting to his new country's business regulations and outlining several actions taken in his dealing
E - experienced in adapting to his new country's business regulations and outlined several actions with which he had taken in dealing
A 首先就是时态的问题,take deal一定是在experience之后的,所以排除BE,然后take这里是作为动词, take to do,最终选择A
5.(225)The new government requires employers to inform an employee of their legal right to holidays and overtime pay.

(A) employers to inform an employee of their
(B) employers to inform employees that he has a
(C) employers to inform employees that there is a
(D) that employers inform an employee of their
(E) that employers inform the employees that they have a
6.(226)In comparison with tropical cyclone systems, subtropical cyclone systems have a relatively broad zone of maximum winds located farther from the center, and typically have a less symmetric wind field.

D. to tropical cyclone systems, subtropical cyclone systems have a relatively broad zone of maximum winds located farther from the center, and typically have
E. to tropical cyclone systems, subtropical cyclone systems have a relatively broad zone of maximum winds located farther from the center, and typically has
A  in comparison with, 还有最后的单复数
When describing the similarities between unlike things, the idiom “compare to” is used.
When describing the differences between like things, the idiom “compare with” is used.

7.(227)In China, a country not known for freedom of political expression, the number of social protests increased from slightly less than 10,000 in 1993 to more than 58,000 in 2003.

A. the number of social protests increased from slightly less than 10,000 in 1993 to more than 58,000 in
B. the numbers of social protests increased from slightly less than 10,000 in 1993 to more than 58,000 in 这个就是idiom的错误,没有the numbers of的说法
C. protests of a social nature increased from slightly less than 10,000 in 1993 to more than 58,000 in
D. the social protests increased from slightly less than 10,000 in 1993 to 58,000 or more in
E. the number of social protests increased from slightly less than 10,000 up to 58,000 from 1993 to
8.(228)Federal government financing is an essential key in the survival of the interstate rail system.

A. an essential key in
B. an essential key for
C. essential for
D. essential in
E. essential
Essential & key are redundant expression
Essential for

9.(229)Antigenic shift refers to the combination of two different strains of influenza; in contrast, antigenic drift refers to the natural mutation of a single strain of influenza.
(A) influenza; in contrast, antigenic drift refers to the natural mutation of a single strain of influenza
(B) influenza, different than the natural mutation of a single strain, known as antigenic drift
(C) influenza, in contrast to the natural mutation of a single strain, known as antigenic drift
(D) influenza, different than antigenic drift, which refers to the natural mutation of a single strain of influenza   是different from
(E) influenza; in contrast to antigenic drift, which refers to the natural mutation of a single strain of influenza
10.(230)Studies of the rotational velocity of a galaxy at various distances from their center of mass have shown that ninety percent of the universe’s mass could exist in the form of dark matter.

(A) rotational velocity of a galaxy at various distances from their center of mass have shown that ninety percent of the universe’s mass could exist in the form of
(B) rotational velocity of galaxies at varying distances from their centers of rotation have shown that as much as ninety percent of the mass of the universe exists in the form of
(C) rotational velocity of galaxies at varying distances from their center of mass has shown that up to ninety percent of the mass of the universe is made of
(D) rotational velocity of galaxies at varying distances from their rotational centers has shown that as much as ninety percent of universal mass might exist as
(E) galactic rotation at various distances from the galactic center of rotation have shown up to ninety percent of the mass over the universe exist in the form of 这边也少了从句,变成studies have shown up 99,而不是后面整件事

3.(223)Bo Jackson, who is widely believed to beboth one of the greatest athletes of all time and the first player to make anall-star team in baseball and football, leaves a legacy that willlikely live on for generations to come.

a. Bo Jackson, who iswidely believed to be both one of the greatest athletes of all time and thefirst player to make an all-star team in baseball and football, leaves a legacythat

b .Bo Jackson, widely believed to be one of the greatest athletes of all time, was the first player to make an all-star team in both baseball and football, and he leaves a legacy

c. The first player to make anall-star team in baseball and football, Bo Jackson, widely believed to be oneof the greatest athletes of all time, leaves a legacy that

d. Widely believed to be one of the greatest athletes of all time, Bo Jackson, who was the first player to make an all-star team in baseball and football, andleaves a legacy that

e. Since he is the first player to make an all-star team in both baseball andfootball and is widely believed to be one of the greatest athletes of all time,Bo Jackson’s legacy

1. E
2. E
3. C错选A  believed to be the first player 逻辑不对,first player 是一个 fact,不能 believed to be
4. -A 超时了...
7. A
8. C

C citing
D 同A,

222 E

A 虽然但是同时出现,mandate 命令语气后面直接跟be 而不是must be
B specify +人+who 。。。
C specify that ...be ?
D but that 跟前面的specify that 不应该平行;过去时态specified 和when的结合暗示这个法案现在不这么认为

223 B 错——C
A believed
E  since的逻辑无中生有 since he...J‘’s legacy...j没有单独出现而是作为所有格出现,那么he指代的就是legacy

224 A

226 C错——A
has排除BE
in comparison with ,compared to ,compared with (不是这个搭配。。。)

227 A
from to,没有from up to E排除
or more替换了more than意思改变

228 C

229 A
BD排different than

230 B
their center说明galaxies得是复数A排
show that 不可省,show的是that后面的这件事,不是mass,E排,百分数修饰mass不可数,exist要用单数

day124

231 C
a number of +复数
the number of+单数

232 D

233 A错——C

B 读起来很奇怪,regardless of 和even though同时出现也很怪

234 A
consider X Y

235 A
controversial education reform proposal 和 proposal on controversial education reform意思是不同的!(果然这种时候要忠于A)
for comment 和 to make comment二选一,前者好像搭配更常见,好吧是因为前者更简洁
