3/3 多伦多一战 JJ回馈

一战650，原本2月中旬考的，每天加班没时间看书才delay到现在。。。考试前就大概知道自己多少分 （prep/GWD什么的都没做，only did the 6 CATs from Kaplan and 2 from GMAT)，所以结果不算出乎预料，打算等5月底再考一次。感想是 math and CR/RC 的 JJ 真是太好了！！实在是感谢之前分享的几位战友和整理的童鞋们，所以就算不记得多少，自己也要分享一下！！

作文

考前看了大牛们的template, 但是没怎么背。AA 就大概背了false causal relationship （不管是哪种,都只写false relationship…）, incorrect assumptions, insufficient evidence (or lack of representative sample). AI 就没怎么看了。。。考的时候就bull..sh*t了一下
AA

In a statement issued to its shareholder issued by CEO of Fleet Motors(FM), the statement says that to meet the shareholders’ desire for international market expansion and increase in production capacity in the next decade, FM decides to buy Futura Autos (FA) in Galaxia planet，　where FM currently doesn’t have any market presence.
然后说什么increase in population at Galaxia will expand the customer base for FM. FM can also save FA from bankruptcy by discontinue of its production line and manufacturing . FM also will replace the FA marketing and management team by current FM management to ensure a smooth transition.
思路：很多点都很obvious，所以很好写。最大的问题就是时间不够写那么多点，虽然说本身在北美读的high school and university, 最后还是almost run out of time,都没怎么检查…所以建议大家还是plan 好，and pick only a few important points to write.
AI

The most effective way of a business person to maximize profit is to conform with the highest standard of ethics.

思路：talked about in an ideal world, everyone wishes that business is done eitically, however, impractical for real world situations. Then, discussed about the drawbacks if business is earned unethically (i.e. drug lords/war lords) and the impact that it will cause to the society where criminal activities as means to earn profit. (i.e. unstable economy, mental pressures of its people, violence/crime rate, etc..). Then, discussed about how and who will determine the "highest standard" and who will enforce the compliance of business. Discussed that it will be costly to monitor and impractical for countries and their governments to come up with an uniform set of ethic standards, possiblity for foreign law enforcemnt to penalize offenders, etc...conclude that we need a balance approach in handling this issue, with proper cost benefit analysis and monitoring to ensure the compliance, etc..


数学

本月JJ 的第1，10，16 题都有考到（题目完全一样）。不知道是不是RP问题，考了很多exponential related questions…完全没有permutation and combination questions…害得我考试前花了不少时间总结排列组合的题型。。。也解释为什么我基本上不记得什么数学题了。。。
有一个x,a,a,a+1,a+2,a+3,a+4 的数列，given x<a, the average of the set is equal to the median of the set, ask to present x in terms of a?
选：(x+6a+10)/7 = a+1 -> solve that x=a-3

另外有类似2月的折纸题（第六道JJ题）, but instead of Data sufficiency, 给出了长方形的长（CD=6, DE = 2）求AD/DB ratio (附件有图）

逻辑
本月JJ 第二题【参选者品质】又出现了。。所以说逻辑的JJ还真好用，就是我考试太早，没有丰富的JJ...


阅读 1

P1: California Sacramento valley 的outcrops岩石层有奇特的光滑表面, ranging from 不同的高度. 研究怀疑是史前动物（mammoth and some other animal name..）在河边洗完澡，摩擦石头表面造成的。
P2: domestic animals exist in the valley over a century old. Domestic animals like to rub themselves over the 木桩(poles)什么的. 所以domestic animals could have caused the smooth surface on the lower levels of the outcrops。但是不能解释高处(14 feet)的smooth surface.另一种解释是风吹雨打造成高处的腐蚀，但通常天气造成的腐蚀should be the similar on all tops of the rocks.
P3: 最近的研究证明，weather cannot cause the same patterns of the 光滑表面 on the rocks. 研究证明，高处的岩石层sample shows 痕迹类似于动物园大象摩擦柱子的痕迹。
Q1: the main purpose of this passage?
Q2: the purpose of the introduction of domestic animals in P2? 我选的是something about over a century old so not all marks were resulted from the prehistoric animals
Q3: 最后一题我选的是关于大象的神马。。。
阅读2 (最后几题，所以没读太仔细，大家凑或看吧)

P1: 关于the history of expansion of Alder in Britain with the reduction in pines populations .
P2: History of Alder and how it migrated to Britain through then Irish Sea; also talked about why Alder, a plant prefers the wet and cold?? habitat grows well in Britain
P3: 解释Alder is better at adjusting to the environment changes than pines and survive fire damages better than pines. For example, humans in history caused fire intentionally in order to change their surroundings. In such event, Alder would have grown in the burnt land faster than pines. 然后又讲了how the pollen (or leaves?) of Alder is different from pines that Aldar’s pollen would fall and grow a new sampling and the fallen leaves of Alder would provide better vegetations on the ground…blah blah.
