AIA13集思广益中参与讨论提高自己惠及他人

AA13. “Employers can best motivate employees not through raises and bonuses but rather by offering non-monetary highly-publicized awards for high performance (e.g., employee-of-the-month awards, special parking spaces, personal letters from management, etc.).”


Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the opinion stated above. Support your views with reasons and/or examples from your own experience, observations, or reading.


我的观点是觉得作者过分高估了非金钱的奖励的作用。


1物质条件始终是一个生存的前提条件。一个人的工作努力付出如果无法和他或她的物质生存条件的改善联系起来很少会有人能获得激励。


2此外,通过奖金和工资的提高同样能起到非物质奖励所带来的基本上一切作用。员工同样会觉得自己的工作和付出得到了认可同样可以感觉自己的与众不同。


3诚然,非物质的奖励可以给员工一定的激励。让优秀的员工和一般的员工区别开来让他们得到认可的同时也可以激励其他员工。但是相比起来物质激励说它显然不能称为最有效的激励方法。


希望大家提供正反方以及中立方观点。并提供例子

我觉得要用英语的  要不效果不大


不过要是能慢慢攒起点东西


会是CD一笔宝贵的财富

这个讨论我想主要是扩大思路用的,所以中文也可以吧。


这道题我反而比较同意作者的观点。作者说的是best motivate ,我觉得在解决了温饱问题以后,员工是比较care工作中的满足感的,这种满足感大多来源于非物质的奖励。


问问楼主,不知道和作者的观点相同要不要紧的?

1.yah, for this argument, the passage lack enough information to justify the conclusion,we can find the weakness of the augument.


For example,the extent of the awards is not mentioned here:maybe the sum of raises and bonuses is too small to satisfy the employee,or non-monetary highly-publicized awards is more worthy to attain....


it is hard to say which kind of above awards is more effective.


2.we can also mention the view that




judydongxueni raise aboveto make the argument more lengthen.....

Position: Agree


1.      Monetary rewards is the initial motivation for employees. EX Wal-Mart


2.      Highly-publicized awards enhance loyalty and mental contentment. EX most company has its own highly-publicized awards system. EX Haier


3.      It is important to combine merits of both awards to achieve best motivation.

我想到一个论点支持money才是best motivated


原因在于non-money 对不同人的效用不同,不易做到公平和合理,也不见得有成绩的会得到明显区别于别人的奖励,所以还是money大家都接受,也很实用。。。

design of the non monetary reward system is more difficult and risky to the management


coz unfair and unscientific design will be counterproductive.


当然上述这个提纲正反都适宜,反着用时,前面加个admittedly,后面加一句however difficult and risky it may be, the effort is worthwhile in light of the tremendous benefits from the non monetary reward methods.

non-monetary is effective, but not necessary better than money in all scenarios. which one is better depends on the actual situation. In fact, most of company apply a combinition of both awards.


1. non-moneytary is effective, make employee feel recognized, valued, blablabla...


2. non-moneytary itself without money won't work. people need money... money is a big driver... blabla...


3. The right policy to reward employee should be a combination of these two. need to consider a lot of factors to strike a balance. blabla....
