Position(Job Title):

Part-time or Full-time Research Assistant, Marketing Area, HKUBusiness School

JobDescription:

The research assistant will oversee day-to-day activities and thegeneral management of assigned research projects. These responsibilitiesinclude:

a.      Manage and clean large-scaledatasets

b.     Analyze data using econometricand statistical models

c.      Write reports / draft papers

d.     Literature review

e.      Some data search and crawlingfrom the website

To apply, applicants should submit (1) a resume [including a sectionlisting the name/contact information for 3 references] and (2) a 1-page coverletter describing their qualifications, relevant experience, significantachievements and interests that are relevant to the job responsibilities.

JobRequirements:

a.      Must have research integrity,being honest in research methods and findings

b.     At least a Bachelor’s degree;preferably from Economics, Business, Information Systems, Applied Statistics,etc.

c.      Previous research experience inthe social sciences is a bonus.

d.     Good proficiency in statisticalsoftware like SAS, STATA, R, Python or Matlab.

e.      Must be responsive to all correspondences,including responding to all emails within 6 hours, preferably in lesser time.

f.       Must have great communicationsand interpersonal skills.

g.     Must be able to handle multipletasks simultaneously and prioritize to-do lists to maximize progress of theresearch projects.

h.     Must be able to work effectivelyand efficiently to consistently meet deadlines.

i.       A strong interest in pursuing aPhD in a social science discipline and/or towards the conducts of generalscientific inquiry is a bonus.
