蓝色为意见或建议高亮为精彩绿色为总结红色为错误 The lecture talks about reasons why the hypotheses about decline of populations of the yellow cedar in the reading passage are unconvincing. According to the lecture, the reasons used to prove the hypotheses in the reading passage are groundless and unpersuasive.
First of all, the lecture points out that the heathy yellow ceder are more residential than other species since it has powerful chemicals which are poisonous to insects, thus even the bark beetle die, they don't die. So it seems impossible it is because the yellow ceder are infested with insect parasites that make their population decline as the reading passage suggests.
What' more, the lecture indicates that it is true that bears can make some damage to trees, however, what contradicts to the reading passage, bears should not be the reason to cause the overall decline of the populations of the yellow cedar. Since in some islands where some yellow cedars live but there's no bears, the populations of yellow cedar still decline. Hence it is not persuasive that it is the bears cause the decline.
Last but not the least, according to the passage, the populations of the yellow cedar declines may be attributed to the gradual changes of climate. However, based on the lecture, it is not the case.(这里用逗号吧,下句是破碎句额) Because the reading passage does not take an important factor into consideration. As is known, trees will be warm(这里应该是温度吧)in a low elevation, and if it is because growing roots suffering damage from cold that cause the yellow cedar trees decline as the reading passage mentioned, the results should be that more trees died in high elevation. However, the truth is the opposite. Therefore, it seems questionable that the gradual changes of climate that lead to the decline. 楼主的综合很好额。
