人家都说这是答疑帖了,写这么多无关紧要的上去干嘛啊,还是把用来问别人的直接原封不动的贴过来啦?表现一点诚意好不好啊
Hi, NYU Stern 2013: I am Eric. I was waitlist by Stern last year. My background is private equity in China ’s domestic fund. My short-term goal post MBA is to join a global leading private equity firm with a focus on clean technology, energy and manufacturing industries to gain the first-hand deal execution and portfolio management skills. In the long-term, I hope to build up my own fund and lead the consolidation of Chinese fragmented industries to upgrade the competence of these industries. This year, I am still determined to apply Stern MBA as I love Stern. But I have several questions to ask you regarding both Stern MBA and my fit with Stern. I hope you can give me some advice: First, as to the issue of industry consolidation through M&A, PE actually plays a significant role in pushing the industry consolidation in emerging markets. In other words, PE can create much bigger money by leading the invested targets to execute M&A deals to consolidate the fragmented industries. After last year’s waitlist, I asked some professionals for advice and they told me that MBA admission officers may do not understand the role of PE in industry consolidation. MBA admission officers may only have understandings of M&A and industry consolidation and they can not connect PE and industry consolidation together. Therefore, MBA admission officers might be confused with my last year’s application career goal and thus I might be waitlist by this reason. I want to know that whether MBA admission officers really understand this professional issue. If not, how shall this professional issue be explained in a more simple and understood way? Second, the economics of USA is not so good and PE is an industry that needs much networking far more than MBA career officers can offer. If my short-term goal post MBA is to join a global leading private equity firm, whether Stern MBA admission officers will wonders the possibility of my goal. In other words, whether any Stern MBA graduates actually got any offer from leading PE funds immediately after MBA. What available resources that Stern provides for students in this area. Finally, according to your experience in Stern, what specific areas do you fell Stern is unique in the private equity areas. For instance, courses, professors, alumni and others. -- by 会员 baochangzx (2011/11/9 16:23:40)
