All news come in one day.

Bad news comes first: A Ding from Kellogg,
Good news comes second: A congratulation call from Yale SOM,
Bad news comes next: my LD did not make to Yale physician fellow but to another top medical school in west coast.

I am now totally torn apart. Friends persuaded me to accept the admission, but the cost is two years separation from family (with one young kid). Already too late to apply for Haas, and zero chance to get in Stanford. This is goddamn life. Sorry for my words, but I do not even have the minimum of excitement after I get accepted by Yale because of this.

Thanks, bigjoe. I thought about that before if my wife gets into a one-year fellowship program in CA, but she got into a two-year program. Most probably I will not defer but go. After two years, both of us can try to find jobs together, which I believe will be a lot easier than school application. Well, I can try to do the first summer's internship in west coast to compensate for some.

如果你觉得现在申请其他west coast的学校都已经太晚了的话，多等一年吧，毕竟你有家庭，有孩子，而且是两年的时间,人生这个阶段，我还是会选择家人的。 通过身边做physician 的朋友也知道med school的fellowship也不好拿。所以我觉得，尽量把offer defer，然后也准备明年申请吧，这样你自己虽然多等一年，但还是至少不用跟家人分离，而且申请西部的学校也把握比较大。

Thanks, beatG. I decided to apply for R3 of Haas, though the chance is slim. But it doesn't hurt to try. Just talked to my boss for an additional reference letter. Feeling guilty to keep others' wheels running before the Christmas. Personally I would pick Yale over Haas, but as you pointed out the cost is a little unbearable.
