NYU Stern or Duke

Got into both. I thought I would choose NYU in a heart beat because of its location, but now I am not 100% sure whether this reason is good enough. My post MBA goals are MNC headquarters finance role in the east coast of the US, or consulting. My background is 4.5yrs audit, 4 years MNC finance in Energy industry. Preferably will return to Energy but open to other sectors. It seems Stern's ranking is moving upward whereas Duke is dropping in the past decade. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

BTW, I was just admitted to Duke in R3. Applied in R2 but took toefl after the deadline so my application was postponed to R3.

Location.

Good relationship with the street.

Big name in Finance.

很少见过有人在这两者间选择，档次差不多，风格完全不同的学校，苹果和鸭梨，你说哪个好。不考虑自身情况比较根本没意义，两者吸引的学生也不一样，你更想认识什么行业背景和目标的人，NYU吸引的学生行业背景和就业地理位置都相当的集中，Duke非常的多样并且分散。两者风格差别这么大，不应该有什么犹豫。既然你的背景和职业目标是做金融，我觉得应该选择NYU，好像没啥可说的吧。
NYU对某些人是不亚于M7的选择，地位很高，但对于另外某些人是根本不会考虑申请的，因为不fit，所以也就没什么特别感觉。
你在这个论坛上问基本没什么意义，因为你要比回帖者了解的多，能同时拿到两者录取，至少说明你已经经历这个过程并且做了不少研究了，对于自己到底想要什么，也只有你自己最清楚。

可以确定一点，你要是去了Duke，更有可能去pharma/medical公司总部做financial management。
其他方面，我觉得NYU更好。

Duke is a very well rounded school stronger in General Management and Marketing, NYU is one of the best Finance schools. It will not be a tough choice at all. Go to Duke if your career goal is Consulting, GM, healthcare or entrepreneurship, Go to NYU if your targets are IB, PE, luxury brand marketing, etc.

Well at the moment I am leaning towards NYU and I want to hear your thoughts to help me convince myself.

But it's location and network is probably more helpful to those who choose IB/PE/VC route . I think I will stick to a finance career in MNC, or consulting then back to MNC then CFO route. So I am concerned if I will click with the type A and competitive IB students at NYU. Maybe Duke's program is more general and the students are more laid back? It also appears that NYU's ranking is on a rising trend while Duke is falling for the past decade. But it seems their reputation among top program deans and recruiters are about the same. NYU Stern just welcomed a new dean and a Nobile prize professor, both from Stanford. Duke was my safty choice when I applied to MBA (look how many admits have reported on CD alone) and I never thought I would hesitate on my decision but here I am...please share more thoughts
