Kellogg admitted a total of 8 students from Mainland China in 2009, including

- 7 2Y MBA program

- 1 1Y MBA program

Among 2Y admits,

- Shanghai: 5 (including 4 2009 admits and 1 2008 admit who deferred the offer last year)

- Beijing: 2 (both are 2009 admits)

The pre-MBA industries include consulting, finance, logistics, marketing research, and entrepreneur.

As for other Greater China areas, as far as I know, there is 1 admit from Taiwan and 3+ admits from Hong Kong.

several specific questions:

1 I can see that application fee should be paid once we submit part 1. I intend to prepare early the recommendation letter. So I wonder whether I could have my recommender recieve the recommendation letter requirement before I pay the fee. And how long does it usually take for electronic payment reach B-Schools? (just trying to scheduling the time)

2 When do you usually ask testing centers to send iBT and GMAT scores to ensure they can arrive in time.

1. After you complete part I, you can proceed to part II where you can register your recommenders. Once you register them, they will receive an email from Kellogg containing an ID and password to access the recommendation form. I'm not sure what you meant by E payment. If you meant the application fee, I think it reaches the school in 2-3 business days max as it is usually paid by visa. If you are talking about swire transfer, it can take up to 4-5 business days based on my personal experience.

2. To play safe, I would suggest budgeting 1 month.

想了解一下1Y的情况,虽然在网上能了解一些信息,还是想从你们这里得到一些最新的一手信息,比如录取倾向: 1,是不是主要都是录取一些工作经验比较长的申请者,如果是工作经验3年左右的,没有转行打算的,非咨询, 非拿了return offer的,有之前被录取的CASE吗?; 2,关于一些预修课程,因为大陆这边不存在社区大学,可以预修一些课, 之前大陆过去的都是怎么解决这个问题的呢?;3,1Y的项目,同学之间的TEAM WORK/NETWORK会不会因为只读一年受到很大的影响; 谢谢了

1.1Y近年有3年工作经验，甚至是2年工作经验被录取的同学。有一位来自Mckinsey的，只有2年工作经验。

1Y的录取，对于工作经验并没有明确的要求。1Y主要是提供给那些不会转换行业的，或者是有return offer的人。据我所知，Class2010有来自BCG Consulting的一位女生(return offer)，一位ATK Consulting的男生(return offer)，一位软件行业创业的男生。Class2011有一位工作于PE的男生(return offer)。由于1Y课程时间相对紧张，又没有实习时间，因此找工作的工作强度会大些，如果申请1Y，最好已经有return offer，即使没有，也最好是有比较明确的就业去向。

2.关于预修课程的要求，大陆这边的同学一般都是在大学本科已经学过了。很少有人靠社区大学去补充1Y要求的预修课程的，因此没有修过那些课程的同学，最后都选择了2Y。

3.1Y的开学比2Y的要早2个月。1Y和2Y很多课在一起上，因此在课程和生活上的Teamwork/Network不会少，但是因为大多数1Y有Return offer或者明确的目标职位，因此，他们参加的活动(比如招聘会)可能会少。一起找工作的Teamwork相对会少一些。
