I'm a Baruch MFE student. Since a lot of students are dicussing about our program, I would like to post more information here. Just for your reference. Basically, most of our classmate are very smart and diversified.
At first, I would like to forward a post of the Baruch MFE Director this week:
The Baruch MFE team ranked 3rd out of 50 teams representing 46 academic institutions from four continents in the eighth annual Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) that took place last week at University of Toronto. Overall Rankings:
1. M.I.T. 2. University of Chicago 3. Baruch College / Baruch MFE 4. Northwestern University / Kellogg School of Management 5. University of Toronto / Rotman School of Business
The Baruch MFE team won the High Frequency Algorithmic Trading section of the competition (finishing first twice and second once in the three final heats), and placed among the top 5 teams in three other trading contests (of a total of six): 3rd place: Sales and Trader competition 3rd place: Quantitative and Event Driven trading 5th place: Interest Rates trading
Our students performed at a remarkable level of consistency, never ranking below 16th out of 50 teams in any of the six trading contests.
lmao whoever says this has got to be kidding or they are just that ignorant =_= 80% of the jobs on the market are constantly filled through networking, every business person knows that
market risk的话,技术上讲,肯定要熟悉各种greeks,精通excel/vba,SQL,熟练各种统计方法。另外,你的soft skill在market risk职位蛮重要的。fitting questions会被问,还有“How do you think of US ecnomics?", 多看新闻,需要有话题分析当下经济形式。剩下的问题就是设法拿到面试机会。
