对中国学生不友好的美国学校???

今天看到许多XDJM被U OF FLORIDA据,不由得心生感慨.虽说有时候为了自己的梦想还是希望能跟好学校搏一搏,但在申请中真的发现许多好学校是肯定不用申请的.因为要不就是它们"不实在",网站上的要求很低,实际上-----, 要不就是对国际学生,尤其中国学生已经有些偏见,因为有的中国学生的能力确实有限,给他们留下了不好的印象.以下是UF的MSF招生办发的,绝对真实,希望大家能有个借鉴

We look for incoming students to have above a 650 on the GMAT and 3.5 GPA.  The class averages are >670 GMAT and >3.6 GPA.  The GMAT may be substituted with the GRE, in which case we look for >1350.  
Assistantships and fellowships are almost exclusively reserved for PhD students in the Finance Dept.  There is some scholarship funding available and all accepted students are automatically considered.  This usually goes to a student wanted by the program who might accept an offer elsewhere.  It is not always the student with the highest test scores or GPA.

All accepted students are expected to be able to pay full tuition, fees and living expenses.

I caution all serious international inquiries that this particular program receives about 250 international applications per year.  For the current class we accepted two.  Each has very unique placement plans and is completely fluent in English.  In the past, when we have accepted more international students, they have had extremely difficult, frustrating, time consuming, and emotionally trying times attempting to get job placement in the U.S. We have had between 20 and 30 international students the past 6 years from Taiwan, China, India, South America, Nigeria and Germany all trying to get placement in the U.S.
    With the exception of four, they were all unsuccessful and returned to their home countries.  Often the best avenue into the US for work is by excelling with a company in your home country which has offices in the US and working with the company to place you in the U.S. or by getting a US education in a field that does not have so many domestic students.  Right now it is not difficult for companies to get finance employees who are US citizens.

One of the critical variables to the MSF application is the Statement of Purpose.  The program seeks students who have well researched avenues for placement and can back it up with data.  We also look for qualities in the applicant consistent with the people we have seen obtain those jobs.

I really dont understand why you feel the university is not friendly. They just warn you the truth about the placement of international students as MSF gradutes without any working experience. It is just the way it is, an uncomfortable way though. If UF tried to squeeze money out of your pocket "unfriendly", they could just send you an offer and let you face the reality.

Btw, the GMAT on the websites is just minimum requirement. It is pretty common that the average level of accepted students are higher than that.

It is tough to get the admission, but everyone can still try as long as you understand the competition. I dont think the school is try to be "unfriendly" to any international students, who bring lots revenue for the school.

some schools are "unfriendly" because they know int'l students will have a hard time finding job in the states. they are aiming at international students who are willing to work back home after they graduate.

别人好心劝你，你说别人不Friendly.　你说别人怎么办。

Finance, 美国人都打破头想进的行业。

今年大多数学校都会这样，因为美国经济不好，Ｈ－１ｂ签证被印度人搞爆。ＵＦ苦心和你解释了拒绝你的原因，要是我感激都来不及。

这个学校真是太仁慈了，已经点出了来美的王道。楼主认真体会一下吧。
