As is described in the issue, the author believes that criticaljudgment of work in any given field has little value unless it comes fromsomeone who is an expert in this field. The idea and the reasons of the issueshould be analyzed and there may be several explanations. In my point of view,what the author says is not complete and thoroughly correct. In some conditionsthe critical judgment from an expert is of great value, while in otherconditions more public advice and judgment should be taken into account.
   Certainly there are some fields that critical judgment of work haslittle value unless it comes from experts. For example, the science paper couldonly understood by experts in that field and anyone who is not an expert has noidea what that paper is about. In such fields, critical judgment of work isvaluable and judgment from others only has little value because only expertsknow the meaning of the work.
    Onthe other hand, there are some fields that critical judgment from ordinarypeople has great value as well as the judgment from experts. Because in suchfields, ordinary people not only have certain knowledge about it, but alsoconnect with such fields closely. Of course in these fields professional skillscan be judged by experts, but the effects of using such skills should be judgedby the ordinary people. For example, the design of iphone, from experts pointof view, may be too simple, but the publics love simple! Because public opiniondetermine the future of the work, in this case, the iphone, so it is importantto take publics’ judgments into account even though the publics are not expertsin that field.
We also shouldcombine opinions from experts and public together to make our work better. TakeMicrosoft’s windows as an example, the operation system windows makes such anbig impact to our daily life not only because it is creative professionally,but also attribute to its consideration of user’s feeling. From expert’s pointof view, it is very impressive to create a new way to operate the computer. Andfrom the public’s point of view, it is our users who feel comfortable by usingwindows then make the system sell so well.
To sum up, whatauthor says is too extreme and whether does the critical judgment has valuewhen it didn’t come from expert really depends on the connection between publicand the work. When it comes to reality, we always combine expert’s opinion andpublic’s opinion together to improve our work.
