than 后面应该跟名词,加了一个are 似乎多余了

不过我也看到过有答案给的是a

个人认为C比较好，固定用法应该是be likely to do

至于are的省略和补出，可以参考og一题

我觉得补出和省略还是以逻辑意思为重，如下面og一题也不是主谓宾结构，但为了逻辑意思清楚，必须补出were

Inuits of the Bering Sea were in isolation from contact with Europeans longer than Aleuts or Inuits of the North Pacific and northern Alaska

ans: isolated from contact with Europeans longer than were

这里补出were是因为原文有歧义，看不出因纽特人是和谁隔绝了，加上were，逻辑意思清楚

associate with other calves, they require less medication and gain weight more quickly than those raised in confinement这句，一方面是因为比较的双方已经十分清楚了，就是两种calves之间的，另一方面，前面do可以指代的动词不唯一，补出反倒不清楚。

这就是所谓的“补出不一定对，不补出不一定错”。

刘振明语法书上说：当谓语内容一致，比较两个主语的时候，在than之后要尽量补出谓语动词。所以这里A的are是没问题的，问题出在应该是be likely to do

有人争议A，A错误在于are:     X is ...more ..than Y

虽然plan to do与plan on doing都可以
                    

Be likely to是固定搭配,  C选项！
