IT is xxx TO <verb>....
It makes possible THAT a person TO travel... Incorrect (That should be followed by a clause).
It makes possible THAT a person travels great distances -- Correct.

个人理解如下，仅供参考：
A NO grammar faults，但是it is possible that +从句的意思是“某件事是有可能的“，例如，it is possible that her name is MIA（but maybe not），表意是中性的，概率是50%yes50%not；但显然，本题想说“jet的出现让一个人在几小时内飞跃长距离成为可能”，侧重于表达"可实现"那层的意思；A的意思不够准确；
B NO grammar faults，has the possibility to do 显然表达出了可实现的意思；
CDE——make it possible for sb to do sth （GMAC唯一认准固定搭配，变从句变possibility怎么变都错）

综上选B（查了一些资料，浅理解）
