1.regard的用法,五个选项,3个regard to be,2个regard as,其他的点比较好分辨。
2.句子结构,一个句子要有working verb,并且,Tom who verb形式错,who和人重复
XXX, who+verb
这个哥们 who,xxxx,verb
题目:the company announced that xxxx, and xxxx, and xxxx.
正解: the company announcedthat 他的国外市场萎缩 and that it expect 第三季度利润下降 and 裁员高于预期
Announced后面,两个that 并列,it expect后面两个并列
4. 并列
题目:一个公司收入增加 归功于 sales growth in 电脑 以及a decline in chip price
a decline in price 和 sales growth
。。,X国的经济依靠于很多作物 from a and b to c and d
AB是国家名, C是国家名‘s economy, DE是the economy of 这个国家
from a and b to a and d
7.考 so that
有 so… so as to 错了
就so that 对
Although many lines of evidence indicate that birds evolved from ground-dwelling theropod dinosaurs, some scientists remain unconvinced. They argue that theropods appeared too late to have given rise to birds, noting that Archaeopteryx lithographica – the oldest known bird – appears in the fossil record about 150 million years ago, whereas the fossil remains of various nonavian maniraptor theropods – the closest known relatives of birds – date only to about 115 million years ago. But investigators have now uncovered bones that evidently belong to nonavian maniraptors dating to the time of Archaeopteryx. In any case, failure to find fossils of a predicted kind does not rule out their existence in an undiscovered deposit. Skeptics also argue that the fused clavicles (the “wishbone”) of birds differ from the unfused clavicles of theropods. This objection was reasonable when only early theropod clavicles had been discovered, but fossilized theropod clavicles that look just like the wishbone of Archaeopteryx have now been unearthed. Finally, some scientists argue that the complex lungs of birds could not have evolved from theropod lungs, an assertion that cannot be supported or falsified at the moment, because no fossil lungs are preserved in the paleontological record.
Q1.The primary purpose of the passage is to
A. compare the development of two hypotheses concerning the evolutionary origin of birds
B. suggest revisions to the standard theory of the evolutionary history of birds
C. evaluate the usefulness of fossil evidence in determining the evolutionary history of birds
D. challenge the theory that birds evolved from ground-dwelling theropod dinosaurs
E. respond to criticisms of the theory that birds evolved from ground-dwelling theropod dinosaurs
Q2.In the context of the passage, the phrase “fossils of a predicted kind”(line 16) most likely refers to which of the following?
A.Theropod fossils with fused clavicles
B.Theropod fossils that are similar in structure to Archaeopteryx fossils
C.Theropod fossils dating back more than 150 million years
D.Fossils indicating the structure of theropod lungs
E.Fossils indicating the structure of Archaeopteryx lungs
Q3. Which of the following is mentioned in the passage as an argument made by scientists who are unconvinced that birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs?
A. There are no known theropod dinosaur fossils dating from a period after the time of Archaeopteryx.
B. There are no known theropod dinosaur fossils that indicate the structure of those dinosaurs’ lungs.
C. Theropod dinosaurs appear in the fossil record about 150 million years ago.
D. Theropod dinosaurs did not have fused clavicles.
E. Theropod dinosaurs had certain bones that look just like those of Archaeopteryx.
*34. MutualFund和Index Fund
我们通过index的表现来进行判断,or the selected stocks。
答案:representative of a portfolio of stocks, 确认就是上面注意那段话。
Q7:unmanaged fund
Q4. 细节题3,What does the last sentence want to express?
Q3. 细节题2:以下哪一个内容是文章中可以找到答案的信息 答案:the start time of earth 地质 history record。
Twenty years ago, Balzania put in place regulations requiring operators of surface mines to pay for the reclamation of mined-out land. Since then, reclamation technology has not improved. Yet, the average reclamation cost for a surface coal mine being reclaimed today is only four dollars per ton of coal that the mine produced, less than half what it cost to reclaim surface mines in the years immediately after the regulations took effect.
Which of the following, if true, most helps to account for the drop in reclamation costs described?
A.Even after Balzania began requiring surface mine operators to pay reclamation costs, coal mines in Balzania continued to be less expensive to operate than coal mines in almost any other country.
B.In the twenty years since the regulations took effect, the use of coal as a fuel has declined from the level it was at in the previous twenty years.
C.Mine operators have generally ceased surface mining in the mountainous areas of Balzania because reclamation costs per ton of coal produced are particularly high for mines in such areas.
D.Even after Balzania began requiring surface mine operators to pay reclamation costs, surface mines continued to produce coal at a lower total cost than underground mines.
E.As compared to twenty years ago, a greater percentage of the coal mined in Balzania today comes from surface mines.
A new drug, taken twice daily for one month, is an effective treatment for a certain disease. The drug now most commonly prescribed for the disease occasionally has serious side effects such asseizures; in field tests, the new drug’s side effects, though no worse than mild nausea, turned out to be much more frequent.Nevertheless, the new drug is clearly preferable as a treatment
The expansion of large-scale farming in Africa and Asia has destroyed much of the natural vegetation on which elephants have historically depended, forcing them to turn to cultivated land to satisfy their enormous appetites. As a result, farmers have lost millions of dollars worth of crops annually. Yet even if elephant sanctuaries were created on a widespread basis to guarantee elephants sufficient natural vegetation, the raiding would likely persist, since____
(A) when elephants forage for food, they typically travel in herds.
(B) foraging elephants have been known to cause substantial damage even to plants that they do not eat.
(C) some of the land where crops have suffered extensive damage from elephants has been allowed to return to its natural state.
(D) elephants tend to prefer cultivated crops to wild vegetation as a food source.
(E) elephant sanctuaries are usually created in areas that are rich in the natural vegetation on which elephants have historically depended.
(GWD-21-Q38different type)
Because it was long thought that few people would watch lengthy televised political messages, most televised political advertisements, like commercial advertisements, took the form of short messages. Last year, however, one candidate produced a half-hour-long advertisement. At the beginning of the half-hour slot a substantial portion of the viewing public had tuned in to that station. Clearly, then, many more people are interested in lengthy televised political messages than was previously thought.
Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the argument?
A. The candidate who produced the half-hour-long advertisement did not win election at the polls.
B. The half-hour-long advertisement was widely publicized before it was broadcast.
C. The half-hour-long advertisement was aired during a time slot normally taken by one of the most popular prime-time shows.
D. Most short political advertisements are aired during a wide range of programs in order to reach a broad spectrum of viewers.
E. In general a regular-length television program that features debate about current political issues depends for its appeal on the personal qualities of the program's moderator.
