我记得GWD24套XLS答案是E，我当时选A；看了EMINEM830505的分析，更加确认是答案错了。关于often green and striped的修饰对象，我觉得可以通过前面一个分句（本分句清清楚楚就是要说这个tomato的cousins就是又圆又红）排除歧义。
虽然XDF号称有分号的选分号...

答案是E。
A的问题：
1. often green and striped 的位置不好
-形容词只能做定语，需要紧跟被修饰成分，而且主句中已经出现修饰主语Heirloom tomatoes的分词定语grown from seeds saved from the previous year，因而让修饰成分often green and striped间隔出现修饰主语相当awkward。
2. often green and striped破坏对称性
-often green and striped， have plenty of bumps and bruises, are more flavorful. 作为描述主语的三部分应该结构对称。
E:
代词一般默认指代前面句子的主语
一种错误的解题思路：只要前面出现两个或两个以上的单数或复数名词，后面就不能再用代词。
GMAT很多SC例句都有这种情况出现，只要不容易引起歧义，是允许的，只是effectiveness上并不完美。

另：按照楼上的逻辑，那E选项中they are often green and striped, 根据often green and striped，这个they说的就是Heirloom tomatoes，同样排除歧义。

首先谢谢LZ的狗。

我开始也在AB中徘徊，上来就直接把DE给排除了，因为代词they可能出现的歧义。但是仔细想想LS的TX的分析，觉得不无道理。我记得Prep语法分析里又提到过，分号后面的代词主语应该by default应该和前面一句相同，也就是这题中Heirloom Tomatoes 所以E是对的。请大家再翻翻笔记确认一下
