Assume you earn 120k-150 k as an associate in a top consulting firm in US, you effective tax rate is around 35% if you are single. And your living cost all depends on the location and your life style -- by 会员 CodeMonkey (2012/3/10 8:25:19)
I think you should elaborate more with regard to the tax rate otherwise this is going to mislead a lot of readers here. Whether you are in the US or Canada, the tax rate is not a simple rate that applies to your total income; it calculates based on a bracket. If you earn $150,000 a year, you don't pay 35% tax on the entire 150,000, you only pay a portion of it. As a matter of fact, based on the 2011 IRS bracket, you pay 10% for $0-$8,500 15% for $8501-$34,500 20% for $34,501-$83,600 28% for $83,601-$174,400 So you are no where CLOSE to be paying 35% tax. -- by 会员 WhiteSuby (2012/3/12 3:07:24)
