Hey there. Happy to offer up some guidance for you—the answer is that for international candidates, Round 1 is very important. Many of the available slots will be gone by the time that Round 1 is over; so in a perfect world, you would get aaaall your apps in for Round 1. But of course, this is not possible most of the time. So what you should do, and what MOST international candidates do, is they get as MANY apps done in R1 as possible, and they do the rest in R2. It is ALWAYS better to put out a GREAT app in R2 than a FAIR one in R1. So shoot for the moon—just try to do it, if you can, in Round 1.   rovided that you get a great GMAT score (well above 700) you should be fine to apply to a top-20 school. But the GMAT for you, especially given your background in the crowded IT space, will be very important indeed. Hope this helps, and good luck!
