我面试后被拒，只是想知道根据什么。似乎现在被拒的全是本科非会计的，我们就觉得有点不甘心。毕竟你了解，像我本科学化学工程，能拿到德勤和通用电气财务的实习，是多么不容易，我觉得我已经证明其实我是很有潜力的，但是说拒就拒了。另一个战友gmat760都被拒，当然我知道申请时综合考虑，但是MSU本科会计的人，上硕士根本不用考gmat，本来就是很不公平的事情。我想你也知道，如果把美国学生跟中国学生比，他们根本没戏。 最后我想说，居然有骂人的情况，我很反对，显得我们中国人没有气度。但是也请从另外一个角度看，如果MSU的效率高，没有不回大家邮件，没有电话面试放大家鸽子，没有不给理由的拒我们非常优秀的申请者，有人不会如此气愤。因为正常的被拒，情绪应该是失望，而不是气愤。如果气愤，显然有其他理由。 希望学校能重视，我知道学校不愁生源，但是学校如果拒的中国人，比很多招的美国人优秀，是双方的损失，不是吗？ -- by 会员 liudingyang (2011/3/24 23:04:31)
Hi there,
There is no doubt that you are very smart, and we all agree upon that Asians are likely to have higher performance than Americans. However, notes that people follow different "rules" in different environments. As long as we make decision to study abroad, we need to identify their rules and learn to follow.
Here are the rules in the United States:
1- Employers are very conservative about hiring aliens, no matter how smart you are, you are not raised in this environment and do NOT have much networks for job huntings;
2- Master of accounting program is very career-oriented, it's not only about how quickly you learn the accounting knowledge. Interpersonal skills are also very important. When it comes to interpersonal skills or communication skills, you may feel hard to compete with domestic students; I very much agree what "leoplain555" said about social skills.
3- Not all the american students are stupid, at least in my view, the students here are very smart, they are just lazy. Plus, they know how to contribute to community or society, and they are more innovative.
4- MSU undergraduates also need take GMAT exam.
