找大老板写信不见得是最理想的，如果他都不了解你，没法写出任何的事例，建议找小老板，效果可能更好。

Hey there—happy to answer this question for you.  Yes, if the letter is too short, it will not be very effective.  I would say that you can do two things—first of all, you might ask him if he can make it a bit longer—perhaps 500 words at least!  But no more than 2000.  If that doesn’t work, then you should be able to perhaps add some of your own words to his letter (or draft your own).  But yes, if the letter comes out too short an admissions committee may think that he didn’t have much to say about you.  And that is a bad thing!

I have another question. If schools do not require recommdation provider only to submit online, meaning a letter is also acceptable, which kind will you choose, to submit online or to write a letter?

Hey there, happy to offer up some more guidance here of course.  J  If the school gives the recommender the option to submit online, they should submit online.  That will make everyone’s lives easier—and it is easier for the school to be sure that the recommender is submitting the work directly.  If I had the choice, I would lean towards submitting online. It will be less work for the adcom—and they will appreciate it!  Hope this helps!
