但是“investigating the effects that changes in working conditions would have on workers’ performance”是分词作定语修饰experiments，分词作定语表示所修饰的名词动作的多次重复，显然本句中的experiments并没有多次重复的含有。

请问E）“to investigate what the effects changes in working conditions would have on workers’ performance”为什么不对

“分词作定语表示所修饰的名词动作的多次重复”这是谁说的？有依据吗？我觉得只要不是点动作就行。experiments是持续一段时间的动作，所以没什么问题。
E里面，effects名词复数，changes又是单数动词错；而且后面又多了一个动词would have。如果把effects changes看作名词的话也得用effect changes, 就好像apple trees一样，而不是apples trees

你看一下what从句里面的结构，主谓宾分别是什么。有what和effects两个宾语了。但我也感觉读的满通的。也有点confused。
不过，原句的意思就是investigate是作修饰成分修饰experiment的。改成to do结构变成目的状语修饰was，完全改变了句子的意思。
