Are you applying for PSU? I am facing the same topic.

This subject is to let you choose one situation to describe. "A character-building event " or "situation in which your involvement made a significant difference". You can choose anyone to write. It dosen't means including the both two aspects.

If you choose the first one, you can describe an event in the process of which one of your character was built and maybe you can write how it was built through this event. And if you choose the other one, depict your leading or significant role. And this role and your performance is crucial because you make the results improved.

I am also applying for Purdue Univerisity. Would you mind if you tell me what is your major? I want to know because I have not seen this requirement. I think this difference may be due to different programs. Where did you find this requirement, general graduate information or specific program requirements? Thank you!

I was shocked at the first sight of what you said, I mean four essays. I thought it was additional requirements. But later I realized that these four essays refer to the four subjects listed on one page of on-line application, right? Actually, the first two subjects are part of PS.               o(∩_∩)o...

In addition, Purdue prefers applicants with w/e. It is not surprising to have the same requirements as MBA.

四篇essay在msf的online application里。我专业金融。purdue喜欢有工作经验的阿，看来我没戏了....

从过来人的推测和网页上写的要求和语气什么的。它的商学院挺好啊，也算是小牛呢。不能只看它的综合排名的吧。
