E选项的最后为什么没有“be"？是省略了吗？什么情况下可以省略？

这是be动词的省略，我给你举个例子你就明白了：
I am a student and he a teacher.当然原题中把be补出也是对的，这是ets惯用的陷阱让你把正确选项先排掉。以后做题要小心。

请问：此类省略的条件是不是两个并列句中，谓语相同，则后一个谓语可以省略？

系动词可以省，实意动词用do, did,......代替
