Please do not be sarcastic, Yale-mba-to-be. Winterblast 's message came through after all, though his English may not be great. I am in America, and as far as I know, age is not much of an issue for biz school applicants, so long as you fall within the meaty age range (23-33,23-36, and so on). Please do not be discouraged, Winterblast, and proceed with your application. If I remember correctly, a 38-year-old got admitted to the MBA program at University of California, Irvine. You might want to seach for his thread on this website.

so you are in A-meri-ca!  I am so impressed... you make a difference by dangling around websites to offer wisdom to those who look up to you from the Orient, rather than working hard to make best of your school! You must be like those Chinese Dukies when finals come!

Watch carefully what I did to LZ: I encouraged him but got a response making no sense.  But you can read, I am sure.

My friend got her MBA degree at 38, now working for a good logistic company in Wisconsin.

She has many years of working experience in China, and came to here to get an MBA. The school only ranks at around 80. But she got her husband and daughter here with her now. They are having wonderful life over there. Plus, she got full scholarship 'cause she had years of working experience and she worked as an assistant in the department office.

Another sample is the president of Marketing of our company, an American guy though. He joined the army and spent many years overseas and came back to US around your age. He got admitted by Univ. of Michigan and later worked for Amazon.com for 3 years. Our company hired him last year. We had a wonderful conversation at Starbucks several days ago.

If this is really what you want to do, go for it. As long as you feel peaceful about your decision without any regrets or struggle no matter what you choose, then it would be the best choice for you. 'Cause that would be what God want you to do.

I just want to be realistic.

If the chance is very slim, I would like to figure out some other way earlier considering MBA application takes up so much time and energy. Especially, I'm not young and can't affort to lose another year.

Good luck.

Why don't you try one-year IBEAR MBA at USC? this is a program aiming at mid-career managers. Just contact them at your earliest possible time as their current class has not shaped up. I just got some information from this program, inviting me to it.

我觉得大龄本身不是问题,但在这个年纪的人读书时一定要有明确目标。如果这个年纪了,还是没有对自己将来一个清晰的想法,或者对MBA后的计划的话,可能很难让adcom录取你。
