Greetings from the University of Michigan! November 14, 2003
In 2001, the University of Michigan Business School established the Global MBA Program for Asia to offer MBA education opportunities to Asian companies allowing them to educate their elite managers as future leaders. After graduating three classes in the last three years, the Asia Global MBA Program has firmly established its reputation as the most prestigious and effective MBA program for companies and institutions in Asia. Since the inception of the program more than 60 companies and institutions from diverse fields and sizes have joined the program. With this success behind us, the University of Michigan Business School would like to extend an invitation to you and your company for the Class of 2005 which will kick off on February 22, 2004 and for the Class of 2006 which will kick off February 20, 2005. Highlights of the program for the Class of 2005 and 2006: Exclusive Program: The Asia Global MBA Program is exclusively for the elite managers who were singled out for executive development. The program logistics and schedule are carefully developed to meet the needs of the companies and participants who request higher standard than two-year MBA programs can offer. Michigan MBA Program: The program curriculum is the same as the standard Michigan MBA Program including your choice of more than 130 elective courses in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Students who complete the program requirements will be awarded a Michigan MBA degree.

Dean Robert J. Dolan and Associate Dean Eugene Anderson - April 25, 2003. Network Building: Provides an opportunity to build a strong network with elite managers in top Asian companies and students from all over the world; this year's corporate sponsors include Toyota, Nomura, Hyundai Motors, Matsushita, Mitsubishi, Mitsui Mutual Life, Nippon Steel, POSCO, SK Telecom, and Sumitomo Bank, just to name a few.  lease refer to the program website (www.eamdc.umich.edu) for the list of our partner companies. Time Saving: By eliminating the long vacation between the first and second year, the program concludes in 16 months rather than the two-year time frame of the standard MBA Program; the admission process also concludes in seven weeks. This schedule still allows for vacations of one to three weeks between each session providing a total of 11 weeks for students to travel and get immersed in foreign cultures. Diverse Cultural Learning: Creates an environment where students learn from colleagues with different cultural backgrounds through the sessions in Asia and the U.S.; the class of 2005 will consist of two 6-week sessions in Japan and Korea and a one year session in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Cost Saving:  rovides a program at a cost considerably lower than sending students to the standard MBA program. The Global MBA Class of 2004 tuition is fixed at $82,900 and will not increase during the program. The GMBA tuition is slightly higher than the standard MBA program to cover expenses of the local session operation but, because the program duration is shorter, the total cost -- including foreign living expenses and continued salary and benefits -- is still less. Additional Benefits: Offers diverse auxiliary programs including Executive Skills Workshops and cultural tours to strengthen students' understanding of business skills and foreign culture. Qualifications: Application to the program is limited to people with corporate sponsorship, but partners and senior managers of professional firms and institutions may self sponsor for the program.  lease note that the seats for self sponsorship are limited. Admission Application: Application to the Class of 2005, which will kick off on February 22, 2004 was closed on October 31, 2003. However, highly qualified applicants who are able to submit their complete Admission Application, including test score reports, before December 8, when the admission interviews begin may be eligible for Class of 2005 admission consideration. Please contact the EAMDC office at eamdc@umich.edu to determine your eligibility.
