2007 CEIBS(中欧国际工商学院) MBA申请-----在校生答疑

本人打算申请07年mba,目前只能赶r3了，27岁，国内是清华毕业,然后法国2年研究生,都是机械，工业方面,04年开始在一家法国公司实习，然后05年回到上海协助筹办国内的分公司，公司是做汽车相关技术咨询的，规模中等，国内刚起步，目前职位是项目经理，主要负责产品设计。GMAT已考，分有760，英语一般吧，主要被法语浑的，哎

我的问题是,

1,在准备R3的申请时，是否需要注意一些特别的地方，尤其是不知自己的偏技术背景该如何处理, 虽然我觉得自己更合适向管理方向发展.

2,由于读书时间长，目前我的工作经验加上实习只有三年多，我觉得比较短是一个弱势，但是我非常希望能今年申请，所以想知道是否有类似的成功案例，使我有所参考。中欧有conditional offer然后要求增加工作经验后再有效这种可能吗？

Your background looks competitive. Graduate from 1st tier univ., 2-3 years work experience, with Master Degree and overseas experience as well as a 750+ GMAT score is attractive to CEIBS. Nothing special in R3 interview.. MBA office and interviewers are fair enough. My recommendation is emphasize your strength but know your weakness and switch it into strength. Be confident and be well prepared for the FAQ.Be clear and specific on your career plan, why MBA why CEIBS(align with your own situation. for example, wish to switch your career to business management instead of techinical is a persuasive reason.all you have to do is to think beforehand on how to illustrate it in a more convincing way)

Teamwork is also important at CEIBS. Show the judge panel that you are good team player at the case interview with your peers! Be aggressive but do NOT overdo during the case discussion. Be professional during the presentation and do not dominant the whole process. Read newspaper! sometimes they might ask you news(though very few cases)

Regarding conditional offer, i think conditional offer is issued only to those who are required to strengthen their english. Therefore,it's mandatory for the conditional offer receivers to take the pre-course(an English Program).But I don't think you will get the conditional offer to strenghten your work experience. It's nothing related...Unless you do poorly in the interview, I predict you should be ok to pass everthing Just be well prepared.

Assessment Test 如果你准备过了就不难,不准备一定觉得难.即使以前学过,相信也忘得差不多了.

如果开学前不想花时间,你就准备开学后把宝贵的时间浪费在无聊的数学补习课上吧. 当然,这个考试也不需要准备太久,学过的同学考前一周稍微翻翻,回忆一下就好了.

I agree with Wenjin!I suggest you spend some time reviewing these stuff instead of merely taking the risk blindly unless 1. you feel yourself is genius 2. you decide to study math again during your MBA and be aware that it's even harder to pass the math exam if you fail the Assessment test. ( you should be able to borrow books from ceibs library)  You time is money!Spending whole afternoon on math class on every Friday at CEIBS is a big opportunity cost!

It's relatively easier for Chinese students to pass the test but for those major in Art and Literature, better prepare it!

Last year, we create some msn group to communicate with each other before school starts.I'm not sure whether you can access the website : http://groups.msn.com/CeibsMBA2006 Maybe you can find some useful info there.

Otherwise, you guys can do the samething....Be informed that sharing is very important at MBA enjoy~

Yes, we do have our own MSN group: http://groups.msn.com/CEIBSMBA2007. However, as the R3 application has not started yet, we just wondered whether there would be enough guys who have strong interest to join in it. Whatever, this group will surely become more and more popular after more and more guys confirm to take CEIBS' admission/offer.

and we are considering to have a workshop preparing for the math test ourselves. we just don't want to waster time and energy on math courses after the commencement purely as we thought the test was easy. hehe

我倒是觉得你应该多工作几年，积累管理经验，体会到底自己想做什么和能做什么，MBA又能给你什么样的助力。27岁的人，不用急着读MBA的。如果想转型，30岁以前都来得及。如果想做management consultant，INSEAD可能更适合你。
