【MANHATTAN】一个知识点求解！！

Manhattan 在If...Then...Construction中有一个知识点提到:
The helping verbs would and should should never go in the if part of the sentence, according to the GMAT! 请问一下该怎么理解呢？是在这个句型中if...句中不能出现would或者should吗?

【GWD上的一道题】
Building large new hospitals in the bistate area would constitute a wasteful use of resources, on the basis of avoidance of duplicated facilities alone.

A.on the basis of avoidance of duplicated facilities alone

选项分析：

A选项：名词短语avoidance of duplicated facilities alone应改为从句the duplication of facilities should be avoided，这点考查了名词和从句的区别。用之于本题，由于主句Building large new hospitals in the bistate area would constitute a wasteful use of resources是处于虚拟状态的（虚拟助动词would），因此，其基于的原因也应该处于一种假设中。因此，avoid这个动作没有时间终止点（都不一定开始，何谈终止）。
另外，duplicated facilities应改为the duplication of facilities。此两者的核心词不同。在逻辑上，避免的应该是设施的重复建设这一行为，而不是设施本身。

B选项：avoiding宾语duplicated facilities的核心词错误同选项(A)。

C选项：duplicated facilities的核心词错误同选项(A)。

D选项：连词有误。While连接的两个句子应该是“同时”或者“转折”关系，但本题中的两个句子是“因果”或者“如果仅仅因为”关系，不能用连词while。

E选项：Correct. 本选项在语法和逻辑上均是正确的。if only because的意思是：如果仅仅因为。

"If only because"的意思，我觉得不是“如果仅仅因为”。“if only because"的意思是，”某一件事成立，就算原因只是xxx. “ 举个例子，一个人打了你，被拍下来，然后开车撞了你，没有被拍下来，警察可以说，就算你只打了人，我们也可以把你送进监狱。放在这个帖子的例子，就是”就只因为应该避免复制设施“这一个原因，”在那个区域建造大型医院就构成资源的浪费。所以SHOULD是符合逻辑的
