support 为什么不用原形，用supporting为什么可以？

是因为while在吗qaq

对的，就是因为while在。

因为从句和主句的主语是一致的，所以while后面可以省略主语，直接用分词表示就可以了；
但是另一种情况是用while连接的情况下，主句和从句主语不一致，那么while后面就必须是O+V的结构。

我就在想是whereas at the same time they are supporting  
while是连词起转折，对比的意思  as the same time 是time frame 。。。 同时间发生，所以用they are. 然后they are 被省略了


但又觉得while在句中这么省略太不舒服,最常见是句首的省略,类似的例子

1. Although eradicated in the United States, polio continues elsewhere and could be brought into the country by visitors.

2. Although Polio is eradicated in the United States, it continues elsewhere and could be brought into the country by visitors.
