In spite of 后面是接名词, 而despite 后面是接一个clause. 别的我就不确定了..

whereas is conj. the same as nevertheless, while, however

although=though, but i think "although" can't be used in the mid of sentence..i am not sure

despite+n (to do)，是介词。
although是连词，才能➕句子

小姐姐，despite后面不是加clause哦，despite后面要加名词性的成分
