LZ说的这个it倒是没有注意到，不过跟正确选项比较之后觉得LZ的想法挺有道理的~~记得曼哈顿上讲人称代词和指示代词this that的区别的时候提到过，人称代词像it，指代的是the same actual thing，而指示代词是指the new copy。不知道one是不是也跟指示代词一样？ 不过这里要是用one加同位语从句的话，that是不能省略的，必须是one 【that】 has worked well...
OG的解释好像是这道题错在后面那个it的用法上，make it likely...的it没有明确的指代对象，不知道是谁miss signs...
Hey there, happy to help here. Two things: First... you are absolutely correct that “it” could refer to both singular nouns (commitment & course of action). For that reason alone, it is wrong. But, that doesn’t tell you why “one” is correct. “One” cannot refer to a commitment -- the pronoun reference is usually only used to refer to a person (ie. If one is not careful, one will fall off the bridge) -- but in this case it’s not actually used as a pronoun. Because (‘especially if … past’) is bracketed in quotation marks, it is simply a modifying phrase. The sentence (Heavy commitment … makes it likely to miss …) is fine as is. The subject is ‘commitment’ & the verb is ‘makes’. When we look at “it” vs “one”, we need to know what exactly has worked well in the past. Is it the commitment or the course of action. Using logic & a decent understanding of sentence meaning, and you know it’s the ‘course of action’. In this case, ‘it’ is ambiguous, as you pointed out, but ‘one’ can ONLY refer to the course of action. Hope this helps
