问一个有关省略的问题。还望各位指点一下~

OG 13 第16条正确句子是A surge in new home sales and a drop in weekly unemployment claims suggest that the economy might not be as weak as some analyst previously thought.这句补的特别全的话是不是 A surge in new home sales and a drop in weekly unemployment claims suggest that the economy might not be as weak as the economy that some analyst previously thought it would be.
如果是第一种，那就属于as as 结构中比较从句的主语和主句主语相同可省略，可是it would be又怎么省了。。。
还是 A surge in new home sales and a drop in weekly unemployment claims suggest that the economy might not be as weak as some analyst previously thought it would be.
如果是这种 it would be 又是为什么省了。。。
求解！

"Yes, something like that. When the comparison is between what something actually is vs. what someone thought it was, you can indicate the "thought it was" part via tense, without repeating the initial word."

感觉问题涉及到 As 的词性。

在这里，as weak as 中的第二个AS 是不是充当代词指代前面的 economy ？？？

对于，as...as的使用表示同级的比较，第一个as为副词，第二个as为连词，当然不可能是代词喽，不过原句就是把the economy给省略了而已，咱能看懂就行
