说实话一直没太懂怎么回事叫做run-on

run-on的意思是不是说，既然后面主谓都全了，就应该前面做成一个句号。然后写一个完全信的句子呢？

一个句子里面两套主谓也不是什么新鲜事吧

D 原文的意思应该是it 指(extinctions) mark the end of ......  

run-on就是指it紧跟着上句末尾，想指代extinctions。。顾名思义 run-on： 卷起来车轴转的意思嘛。（but失败了。。）

那么D里面 , and it marks为什么还会被称作run-on呢？   虽然是两套主谓了 可是用了连词和逗号进行连接啊。  run-on是说忘记连接的两个完整句子么？
