选A。。。不太懂，应该是Population的number比啊。。为啥非E？

楼主的疑问表明楼主已经能很好的区分数和量了，这是个好事情。但是请注意population本身就是个数，翻译做：人口数量

their没有指代，that of their population's estimated amout of 2000,这句话极其不清晰，that指代什么？，句子太罗嗦肯定是错的
A前后都是population比较很对称哈
