Due to back-to-back winter storms and the difficulty the entirecity is having in resuming normal operations, it is uncertain as towhether or not Georgetown will be open this week. For Tuesday, February 10th, the decision has been made to close the University. Therefore, if you have an appointment for tomorrow, your scheduled visit/interview for Tuesday is canceled.
For visits/interviews scheduled Wednesday - Friday, please check the Georgetown website at: http://preparedness.georgetown.edu/ or call 202-687-SNOW (7669) to determine if the University is open or closed on the day of your scheduled event. If you're travelling by air, Saturday should be fine. The snow will stop by Thursday. Just a reminder, next Monday is a national holiday in USA, president's day.
"Even if you get to DC, unless the location you arrive at and are heading to are connected by underground Metrorail station (which is the only transportation operating), you'll end up stuck. No Metro buses. No above ground Metrorail stations. Few taxis. Dangerous to try walking more than a couple of blocks."
