我的问题是： 1， without it的逻辑主语应该是french,怎么在这个选项里，好像their grip，好像错了；

B中的it指的不可能是the Franch呀，因为the Franch是指法国人，是复数，所以后面用了their grip，it指代不了the Franch。

我理解这句话的意思是这样的：由于M提供了战略临近SG，所以F对M感兴趣，因为F认为如果不保住M，F对A的控制就不安全
