At universitiesand colleges, sports and social activities are just as important as classes andlibraries and should receive equal financial support
When students graduate from high school andgo to the universities, they will find things are a lot different from those isin the high school. In the universities, they have more time to play sports andmore chance to take part in the social activities. Notwithstanding, shouldsports and social activities receive equal financial support as classes andlibraries do? I believe outclass activities such as sports and socialactivities have the same importance as the schoolwork do. The reason to thisopinion involves many aspects. To begin with, in our country, too muchtime has been used in the school when students in their high school. Hardly dostudents have time for sports and activities. Thus most of the young teenagers are lack of exercise and communicationskills. The reason why parents send their children to the universities is thatthey hope students can learn how to lead a better life when they grow up. It isno doubt that knowledge is highly important for students, but what about good healthand communication abilities. Exercise can help people lead a healthy life andit is their communicating skills that help them achieve their dreams. Thusthings mentioned above are all important to the students’ future life and the sameattention should be paid.
Another important reason is that onceschools give enough financial support to the sports and social activities.Students can have more chance to take part in these activities. In theactivities, they can have more chance to make friends with others. It isobvious that the more activities students join in, the more friends they willmake. Admittedly, school work and high scores are rather important, it isuniversally that having a great number of students can help people lead abetter life. So schools should give their students more chance to make friendsand the friends that we made in the universities may help us in our futurelife. Lastly, universities which pay a lotattention to the sports and social activities can attract more students thanthose that only care about the schoolwork because it’s no doubt that studentsprefer universities that can give them colorful school lives. More studentsmean more money and money enables universities to become better. I do not deny classes and libraries areimportant for students, nevertheless, sports and social activities are also benefitfor students. A brilliant student not only does well in the classroom but also havea good health and a good command of communication skills. In conclusion, universities and colleges should give equal financial support to the sports andsocial activities as classes and libraries. |
